Theatre happenings in Emmett and beyond!

Emmett Community Playhouse

🎭 “Circles of Grace”

ECP’s fall production, “Circles of Grace,” is in rehearsal now, with performances scheduled for September 21-23, 2023. It is being directed by Payton Sam Mitchell.

Circles of Grace opens in a happy household, in a peaceful nation, just moments before the unexpected arrival of an officer of an occupying army. The officer takes command of the house and makes some very unsettling arrangements—all the while preserving the veneer of civility. The family initially accepts his domination, but eventually they are moved to rebellion. Soaring speech, vivid characters and a haunting conclusion guarantee that audiences will leave the theatre disturbed, moved and wanting to talk about how peaceful people can/should respond to brute force.

🎭 “The Christmas Bus”

We’re excited to bring the musical melodrama, "The Christmas Bus," to you this holiday season! The show will be free — ECP’s gift to the community. Production date TBA, but estimated to be early- to mid-December. ECP’s Pam Walker and Connie Lunsford will be directing, and will be working with musical director Zoe Boldon.

Audition dates are TBA, but estimated to be the last week in September. There are roles for 5 women, 3 men (or 2 roles could be either men or women), 1 older teen boy, and 8 or more children (4 girls and 4 boys of various ages). We can possibly add "extra" children. Contact Pam Walker at [email protected] for more info.

🎭 “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”

Bonnie Johnson produced Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Cherry Festival on June 15 and 16, as well as a "Kidz Night Out Dinner Theater" on June 24. The play was well received, and we can't wait for the next youth production!

ECP’s annual meeting, open to all members, will be held on September 12, at a time & place to be announced. Keep an eye on our website and our Facebook page for updates.
